Warner Bros. Pictures will make a live-action movie of Fullmetal Alchemist (jap. Hagane no Renkinjutsushi), the manga series by Hiromu Arakawa. The movie is set for release in winter 2017 in Japan.
They will make only one movie that will summarize the whole Fullmetal Alchemist manga series. Edward Elric’s age will be changed in the movie to 20 instead of 15 as in the manga. Alphonse Elric will be CGI animated.
The movie has an all japanese cast with Fumihiko Sori as the director. Some of the japanese cast include:

Ryousuke Yamada will play Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist live-action film.
The movie has parts being filmed in Italy that started in June 2016 and will wrap up in August 2016 (see picture from Italian Newspaper La Nazione below).
Fullmetal Alchemist is about an alchemist named Edward Elric and his younger brother that has his soul trapped in a suit of armor. Together with the friends he meet on his journey he tries to find out the truth behind the Philosopher’s Stone so he can transform his brother back into his human self. In their search they realize that their case involves not only themselves but the entire country.
The manga by Hiromu Arakawa was published between 2001 and 2010 and has been adapted into a TV anime two times. The most popular being the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood TV anime running from 2009 to 2010.
