Wrights Staff’s Hiroaki Adachi has revealed that the next volume (16th volume) of the light novel series the Heroic Legend of Arslan (jap. Arslan Senki) by Yoshiki Tanaka will be the last. The 15th volume in the series was released in japanese book stores in may 2016.
The Heroic Legend of Arslan takes place in a historical fantasy setting and revolves around prince Arslan of Pars that together with his companions tries to take back the Pars kingdom from the Lustianians. The first volume was published back in 1986 and has been on-going since then. Since its start artists Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy) and Shinobu Tanno (Guin Saga) has made illustrations for the series.
Yoshiki Tanaka’s The Heroic Legend of Arslan as previously been made into a 6-episode OVA series from 1991 to 1995. Currently the series also has a manga adaption created by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) since 2013. Hiromu Arakwa’s manga has then been adapted to an anime series that began airing in 2015. Currently airing is the second season of The Heroic Legend of Arslan TV anime series since the 3:d July 2016.
